LAUREL HODGES
I earned my PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Florida in 2009 and joined the faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi that same year. I teach intermediate and advanced Spanish, as well as linguistics and Spanish at the graduate level. My research interests include, among others, the pedagogy of linguistics, the teaching of culture, and linguistic and social variation in the Spanish language. I recently directed the Master of Arts in the Teaching of Languages (MATL) (more info) and the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Graduate Certificate at Southern Miss. I am currently serving as methods teacher and practicum supervisor.
